Why Is Cooling Required?
Tank Cooling - The electrical current that is required to create the reaction heats the acid bath which then needs to be cooled to the correct temperature.
What Must The Cooling System Include?
The chiller cannot circulate around the tank; there are two ways of cooling either using a coil in the tank or heat exchanger. Either way the materials must be suitable for the tank solution. The chiller system including the heat exchanger needs to supply the solution back into the tank lower than the required temperature (see tank cooling). Do not site the chiller in the same area as the tanks as the atmosphere will eat the condenser, in some plating plants the chillers are on the roof and the ventilation extracts from the factory are in the same area, if this is the case coat the condenser.
