Honoured At Buckingham Palace Celebration

Innovative engineering firm Aqua Group, based in Fareham, Hampshire, has been honoured at a royal reception for winning the UK’s most prestigious business accolade.

Aqua Group won the coveted Queen’s Award for Enterprise (Innovation) for its ground-breaking Leak Prevention System (LPS) which has revolutionised the cooling techniques used in many computer data centres and server rooms around the world.

At the invitation of Her Majesty The Queen, Aqua Group Directors Simon and Sue Davis attended a special champagne reception (14 July) in the magnificent surroundings of the Throne Room, where they were joined by representatives of the other 2015 award winners.

The prestigious event, held annually to celebrate outstanding contributions to enterprise culture in the UK, was hosted by HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh as well as other members of the royal family including the Princess Royal and the Duke of York.

Aqua Group Director Simon Davis invented the LPS. “Our evening at Buckingham Palace definitely ranks as one of the most special times of my life,” he said.

“Standing in the receiving line waiting to shake hands with The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh was incredibly surreal but such an honour, and something I will always remember with great fondness.”

“I feel extremely privileged to have represented Aqua Group at the reception and I am so proud of all that the company has achieved so far — long may it continue!” said Simon.

The LPS offers industry a guaranteed leak-free cooling solution by employing a simple scientific principle for the first time in a commercial setting. Not only does it prevent rather than merely detect leaks, the LPS also brings the benefit of lower operating costs and a reduced carbon footprint.

The Queen’s Award itself will be officially presented to Aqua Cooling this autumn by the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Mr Nigel Atkinson Esq.
