Situation
Our client, a Hampshire based plastic injection moulding company, used a selection of temperature control units (TCUs) across their process. They had experimented with units from a range of manufacturers but were still to find a brand that ticked all the boxes for them, plus two of their existing units had failed. Aqua Sales Engineer, Will Hughes, explains how we stepped in to keep their production on track.
Solution
With two failed units, time was of the essence, otherwise our clients’ manufacturing schedule would be compromised. As the sole UK agent for the German manufactured Single range, Aqua hold stock at their Head Office & Warehouse facility near Southampton. Delivery of two new EASiTEMP TCU units, direct from the warehouse, was swift, minimising downtime. Once the units were in situ it gave our client the ideal opportunity to put the Aqua offering through its paces and see how it stood up to the competition!
By its very nature, a temperature control unit should give precise temperature control and is normally used when a process involves heating – or heating & cooling – at elevated temperatures. Injection moulding and plastic extrusion lines commonly rely on TCUs, they are also used within the food, pharmaceutical and automotive sectors.
The EASiTEMP units have standard operating temperatures of either 95°C or 150°C and features include:
- Check valve & strainer on process and chilled water loop

Results
After just a few weeks of using the Aqua units, during a particularly warm spell, Will reverted to the businesses’ Mouldings Manager for feedback. The client response was extremely positive; “……. best buy we have made in a while. We have endured heatwaves over the last few weeks. The temperature on our other water heaters fluctuated by 6°C and struggled to cool the tool. The Aqua heater was running like clockwork!”
The client went on to praise the Aqua EASiTEMP even further “…. easy to set up, small and does not take up space. The most critical factor – that other manufacturers lack – is when you turn it off, it cools itself down and automatically switches off. With other units you must manually lower the temperature, wait 5-10 minutes for it to cool and then manually switch off.”
