About Dry Air Coolers
Our wide range of dry air coolers, or air blast coolers as they are sometimes referred to, are simple to install and provide efficient cooling with low noise levels. These are perfectly suited to cooling applications where a fluid temperature of 30˚C, or above, is required.
Units are available in either flatbed, V block or vertical styles with differing fan types. All our units can be customised to your specific application, site, and process. Get in touch with our team today to arrange your dry air coolers today.
Dry Air Cooler System Design, Specification, Installation & Commissioning
No matter how complicated or simple your requirement is, our in-house team can advise you, design and specify the exact system you need. We can even provide energy calculations, so you can compare old for new.
Our dry air coolers are typically quick to install, plug & play units; however, we can take care of your project from start to finish, from system design to delivery to your site, installation, and commissioning.
Once the system is set up, we can configure it to your application and integrate auxiliaries into the control panel for ease of use.
Our highly qualified engineers are always on hand to provide any advice or support you with our preventative maintenance plans and emergency breakdown service.
- Quick to install
- Specify exact system you need
- Integrated auxiliary options
Flexible Dry Air Coolers & Solutions
Using dry air to achieve process temperature regulation, dry air coolers are a cost-effective and safe alternative to cooling towers. They can be used alone, or with a chiller, to help reduce running costs.

Dry Air Cooler Range
The Aqua dry air cooler range has been developed and built to give an extremely reliable and robust performance in any environment.
The standard construction consists of an air to water heat exchanger, with a copper tube matrix mechanically bonded to an aluminium fin, which provides excellent efficiency. Fans draw air through the heat exchanger, while the coolant fluid passes through the copper tubes. A painted, galvanised steel frame completes the construction. A control panel is fitted and pre-wired to the fans.
For corrosive environments, alternative heat-exchanger materials are available, including vinyl coated aluminium fin, copper fins and electro-tinned copper construction.

All units come with inverter driven or EC fans for optimum efficiency and are available in flatbed style, V block style or vertical, which is ideal if space is limited. Individual fan isolators are an option, this enables hot-swapping of fans which reduces downtime.
Flatbed dry air coolers are available as blow-through units (fans underneath). This configuration copes extremely well with high water temperatures for engines, CHP water cooling, and similar applications.
A choice of control options are available across the range, including fully fitted and pre-wired control panels with energy saving inverter drive (a no-cost option on our V-Cooler range) or EC fans. Ancillaries such as pumps, heaters can also be incorporated for ease.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a dry air cooler and how does it work?
A dry air cooler is a heat exchanger that transfers heat from a liquid circuit to the surrounding air using fans and coils without using water. It is a closed system so there is no evaporative water loss and no legionella risk.
What are the advantages of a dry air cooler over a cooling tower?
Dry air coolers require less maintenance, no water treatment programme, and carry no legionella risk. They are simpler to operate and have lower running costs in many applications. The trade-off is that performance reduces in hot weather as the cooler is limited by the ambient air temperature.
Can a dry air cooler be used for free cooling?
Yes. A dry air cooler is the most common component in a free cooling system. When ambient temperatures are low enough the cooler can reject heat from the process fluid without needing the refrigeration compressors to run, saving significant energy.
What maintenance does a dry air cooler need?
Routine maintenance includes coil cleaning, fan motor checks, vibration monitoring, and pipework inspections. Regular coil cleaning is particularly important to maintain heat transfer efficiency. Aqua can include dry air coolers in a planned maintenance programme.
What size dry air coolers can Aqua supply?
Aqua can supply dry air coolers across a wide capacity range from small units for light process applications up to large multi-fan systems for industrial and data centre use. Contact our Sales team with your heat rejection requirement and we will size the right unit.

Great customer support!Posted on Google Robert BrownTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Called Aqua cooling out @ 4 pm Engineer Alan arrived at 7pm repaired the fault that was preventing the fridge units running on our 1000 tonne onion store. Really appreciated the excellent service. thankyou from E C Brown & SonsPosted on Google Mark CooperTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After working with Aqua Cooling over the past couple of weeks, I cannot recommend them enough. Connor has been the reliable engineer on site every day, nothing is too much trouble for him. Simon and Joe spent time with us as well for some of the jobs that required the extra hands. The whole job has gone smoothly with great communication from the engineers and Olivia (an absolute gem) in the office.Posted on Google Oliver StarrTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Zeus Hydratech MD, Oliver Starr invited the Aqua Cooling team to collaborate with them to support one of the largest steel processing plants in the UK. The customers’ existing chiller units (fitted to large CNC equipment was old which meant parts and technical support was no longer available) Aqua Cooling were able to support us directly with the specification of suitable chillers from their range. I have been very impressed with their knowledge and service delivering such a large and technical order. Thanks to all at Aqua on behalf of Zeus Hydratech Limited. What more can you ask for? Thank you! On behalf of Turbex LtdPosted on Google Julie PinhorneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very good service. we are really pleased with the equipment on loan it looks nearly brand new. I had an issue at first with one of the machines not turning on, the customer service member of staff was immediately on the phone talking us through the issue which we resolved over the phone. I am Happy to use this company again. Reliable, friendly helpful staff.Posted on Google Robin HewittTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a short term air-con need and Aqua were great. They responded to my enquiry almost immediately, and the hire was sorted within the hour. Even better, they delivered the units next day (and we're not local!) Aqua also extended my hire period with no dramas at all. Overall, truly excellent service

Adiabatic Retrofit Cools Things Down For Injection Moulder
As a global plastic component manufacturer, minimising downtime and operating costs is key. When our client found their process struggling to keep temperature during the warmer months, Aqua upgraded their existing equipment to include a retrofit adiabatic and free cooling operation.
By adding adiabatic facility, the hydraulic circuit will now function correctly during the summer months. Utilising free cooling on the mould circuit is estimated to save the customer up to £70,000 per annum. From a payback perspective, total investment was £60,000. In addition, free cooling operation means the chillers will last longer as running hours reduce on the mechanical components for a significant period each year.
